Today's session was a throwback to how I first learned to keep a sketchbook — a place to just work out creative ideas, no pressure attached. Lately I've been building out some Procreate tools I can use as art journal fodder: brushes, stamps, digital ephemera, little sets to play with.
I was about to open Pinterest to sift through ideas to riff on — old habit — but realized I didn't need to. Instead, I found myself flipping through my own old journal pages, pulling ideas and shapes straight from my own archive. Turns out I don't need someone else's mood board. I could probably go back through every old book I own and harvest genuinely great ideas.
Honestly, I think I could build tools for days if I let myself. But narrowing it down to a handful of core details and filling in as needed feels like the more sustainable plan.
