Week 3
Welcome to Week 3! 🎉
Two weeks into round two, and if you're counting the whole 60-day arc, that puts us six weeks in — 44 days of showing up, in whatever shape that took. Take a beat and actually sit with that number.
This stretch was messier than tidy milestone posts usually let on, and I think that's exactly the point. I unearthed my drafting table from under its usual layer of clutter, finally giving my journal a real spot to live instead of getting shoved wherever there was room. I fussy-cut a small army of bug stickers by hand (learned my lesson, uploaded a Cricut version for the rest of you). I hit a stencil session that turned into a certified hot mess — and instead of pushing through it, I closed the book and called it a reset. Day 40 humbled me hard when a "fix" made a page worse instead of better. I dug through my ephemera stash for a page I'd been avoiding, gathering little collaged treasures on gut and whim alone. I missed a live entirely (sorry, Alabama season opener) and made up for it by falling into a vintage collage book that sent me down a whole new rabbit hole — cutting raw paper shapes with scissors and knife instead of a clean digital curve.
And this week closed out on something unexpected: realizing how much of my old graphic design life is quietly resurfacing, as I build digital tools to recreate my handmade bits without losing what makes them handmade. Full circle, in a way I didn't see coming when this challenge started.
So here's where we are: not a straight line, not a highlight reel — just 44 days of actually doing the work, hot messes and all. That's still the whole point.
Onward to week three. 🎨
