Today I showed you a different way to work up a color and materials swatch — the messy way.

You know the classic version: tidy little squares of color, lined up neat so you can see how they sit next to each other. There's value in that. But it only tells you half the story. It doesn't show you how the mediums themselves behave together — how a ink bleeds into a page, how paint stick pulls differently across one paper than another, how one material shifts the second it touches the next.

So today's swatch was loose. Layered. A little chaotic on purpose. Not pretty — honest. Check out the replay and see what I mean.
