Day 47
September 11: Back in the saddle with clarity
I hit a wall today — spaced and missed the first scheduled slot for the day. Turns out it wasn't the art journaling itself that had me overwhelmed; it was all the "work stuff" life piles on around a challenge like this. I took the brain fart as a sign to hit reset and start fresh instead of forcing it.

Here's a little insight I picked up along the way: this virtual craft gathering works best for y'all in the morning, but honestly? In bed at night is my favorite place to art journal — solo, or with a little more intimate company. No offense to the crew, I just don't want to make it weird.

So — caffeine-free reentry, and I'm sure I was mumbling half-coherently through it. After inking a few tiny lines and dots with my black pen, I found myself scraping at the edges of some glued-down ephemera with my exacto knife (that matte medium was solid, by the way). Distressed. That's the word for it. And honestly? I think it looks better this way. Grungy, mixed media, unexpected. Who knew.
